Social Spotlight: Spieth’s marshmallow, Dash Day does ‘Happy Gilmore’

This week on social media Jordan Spieth did something seriously impressive with a marshmallow...

Trick of the week: Jordan Spieth’s marshmallow moment

Jordan Spieth has struggled lately, from his Masters meltdown to a poor showing at his home tournament at the Byron Nelson on Sunday, but for one brief moment Spieth’s marshmallow made his troubles disappear.

Not bad, Jordan, not bad.

Drive of the week: Jason Day’s son channels inner Happy Gilmore

Jason Day’s got it pretty good at the moment. Following his Players victory at TPC Sawgrass the world number one took some down time with his family.

But his son, Dash, may have just stolen the Australian’s thunder…

“Go to your home!”

Weather of the week: Irish open delayed by hail storm

Rory McIlroy stole the hearts of a nation on Sunday after claiming the Irish Open title in fine style, but his brief visit home didn’t pass without incident.

The tournament was briefly delayed as the players had to take shelter from, yes, a hailstorm!

But when the weather hit again as Rory was heading down the stretch the organisers just let them play right through it…

Good luck with that one, Graeme.

Although no such issues arose at the Byron Nelson during the PGA event, one poor guy still managed to flood part of the course after crashing his golf cart into a fire hydrant.

Looks like he needs a hug.

Reload of the week: Tiger hits three balls…in the water

When the 524th-ranked player knocks three balls in the water nobody would usually bat an eyelid, but when that player is Tiger Woods, people start talking.

Tiger’s last tournament appearance was in August and the 40-year-old was completing his first full holes since back surgery in April.

Despite registering for the US Open in June, Woods told reporters he had “no idea” when he would return to action but did concede he still has Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major victories firmly in his sights.
