An analysis of Miguel Angel Jimenez’s swing sequence
This month we are taking a look at the enduring swing of the veteran Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Before looking at the swing photographs I must comment on the lead picture which depicts Miguel in his warm-up stretching routine. His dedication to maintaining his flexibility is intrinsic to his longevity as a European Tour winner.
The 52-year-old has won an amazing 21 times on Tour and two thirds of these victories have come after the age of 40. Three of his four Ryder Cup appearances have come in the same period.
He has also pocketed a ridiculous 10 holes-in-one on Tour, one more than Colin Montgomerie and three of which came in 2015.
After his last victory in his national open two years ago he extended his record as the oldest European Tour champion at 50 years and 133 days.
When he was asked the secret of his longevity he replied “There is no secret. Good food, good wine, good cigars and some exercise!”
