Equipment: New Scotty Cameron Futura X7 putters

High-tech, multi-material constructions improve stability, alignment and feel

5 Titleist have introduced two new Scotty Cameron putters – Futura X7 and X7M – with advanced perimeter weighting to increase stability and forgiveness.

The Futura X7M also comes in a dual balance model to help those looking to combat the 2016 anchoring ban.

Futura X7 and X7M are the next evolution of Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron’s tour-proven Futura X line, a putter family that deliver high-MOI performance resistance to twisting during the stroke.

Futura X7 is a large, modern wingback mallet (approximately 10 percent larger than the Futura X5) with horizontal and vertical sight lines.

Futura X7M offers a unique pop-through bar-back mallet design for additional MOI and stability.

The M in X7M stands for MOI.

A Futura X7M Dual Balance model combines the X7M head style with tour-proven Dual Balance technology for maximum stability in a non-anchored stroke.

Each Futura X7 model features a lightweight aluminium face-sole core surrounded by a stainless steel frame.

This multi-material construction delivers improved MOI for stability and forgiveness, while producing the softest sound and feel in the Futura X family.

The motivation behind Futura X always has been to help golfers make a more stable, more balanced, more consistent, more confident stroke, Cameron said.

We’ve enhanced those benefits with X7 and X7M through larger, multi-material constructions that make alignment simple. For the golfer, that translates into higher MOI for stability, a bigger sweet spot for forgiveness, easier alignment for a more confident setup, and a better, softer feel.

The key feature is the two materials, Cameron added.

Basically there are two constructions involved here. The feel and sound of the lightweight midsection are married together with the heavier surrounding heel, toe and back to be more forgiving, for better performance.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

FUTURA X7

– Larger club heads with higher MOI to deliver greater resistance to twist for increased stability and a larger sweet spot for more forgiveness.

– A Multi-Material Construction featuring a new Face-Sole Core milled from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium, integrated with a precision-milled 303 stainless steel frame

– The steel frame is seamlessly connected to the aluminium face-sole core at five key points with vibrations dampening technology that helps deliver the softest sound and feel in the Futura X line.

– Larger club heads with longer alignment lines provide Easy Alignment for more confidence at address.

– The head shape is identical to Futura X5 but approximately 10 percent larger, with additional horizontal and vertical sight lines.

FUTURA X7M

– A unique bar-back mallet design that moves weight farther behind the putter face for higher MOI.

– A new pop-through rail alignment system, created by the face-sole core, provides a clear, easy setup for more confidence at address.

FUTURA X7M DUAL BALANCE

– Combines the X7M head design with Dual Balance technology to provide maximum stability for golfers who struggle to make a consistent stroke with a conventional length putter.

– Like all Dual Balance models, Futura X7M DB has a 50-gram heavier head (400 grams total) and a 50-gram counterweight in the butt of the shaft.

– This configuration helps many players make a proper stroke where the butt of the shaft remains pointed at the midsection. Dual Balance putters have a standard length of 38 inches with a 15-inch grip that allows the player to grip down below the counterweight for a more stable stroke.
