Instruction: How to correct a hook

If you are suffering from a hook, then we’ve got a simple fix to get you hitting those shots straighter.

Hooking is much more prominent with a low-lofted club or a driver.

Much of the problems can be corrected as simply as taking a look at your set-up.

Set-up checklist

• Feet – use alignment aids to ensure that you are not stood closed to the target
• Grip – ensure that you’ve got a nice neutral grip – ensure that the right hand is not underneath your club as opposed to a neutral position
• Ball position – ensure the ball is not too far forward in your stance – this will cause ball contact to occur when the club face is travelling left and cause ball to start left and therefore travel left
