US Open 2015: Who missed the cut at Chambers Bay?

Some big-name casualties as always. All credit to Monty for making it on the number

Tiger Woods was always up against it after his opening round 80 so it was no surprise to the see the three-time US Open winner get the weekend off.

A score of +16 was the third worst. Darren Clarke took pity on the former world number one by getting to +17 while 15 (FIFTEEN) year-old Cole Hammer reached +21. American A Kim (no not that one), Alex Kim racked up +26.

Rickie Fowler was possibly the biggest casualty crashing out on +14. He was playing with Tiger so not too many positive vibes in that group.

Bubba Watson stupidly saved his best putts for viral videos in the tournament build-up" Jamie Donaldson and Gary Woodland both had US Opens to forget leaving us on +11. The pair shared seven double bogeys or worse.

Stephen Gallacher and Marc Leishman were in the group on +10, the score which Graeme McDowell said would win, so this pair know who to blame.

Danny WillettRyan Moore, Ryo Ishikawa and our one-handed chipper Jason Palmer were in the group on +9 with McDowell, Jimenez and former champion Retief Goosen all finishing up +8 for the tournament.

Bubba Watson stupidly saved his best putts for viral videos in the tournament build-up and was among those who missed the cut on +7 alongside Bernd Wiesberger and Victor Dubusisson.

Defending champion Martin Kaymer, England’s Andy Sullivan and American duo Bill Hass and Charley Hoffman were among those who missed out by one on +6.

At one stage the projected cut was +3 so those on +5 may have started heading for the exit.

Colin Montgomerie was heading for the commentary box but many will be relieved to know he’ll be out on the course for the weekend after making the cut on the number.

He was joined by Sergio Garcia, Webb Simpson, Morgan Hoffman, Angel Cabrera, Ian Poulter and Jimmy Walker. And at just 10 shots off the lead, you never know…
