Initiative introduced as part of National Golf Month to help get youngsters into the game
The Burhill Group will give away 270 junior memberships across nine of its UK venues next month.
Burhill Golf and Leisure Limited are the owners and operators of ten destinations across the UK.
The initiative, part of National Golf Month in May, will see junior memberships given away across seven of its golf centres (Abbey Hill, Birchwood Park, Hoebridge, Ramsdale Park, The Shropshire, Thornbury and Wycombe Heights) and two of its clubs (Aldwickbury Park and Redbourne).
In addition to the free memberships at the nine venues, Burhill Golf Club will be giving away 30 places for its prestigious Junior Open in 2016, held every year in April.
Making the sport as accessible as possible to the younger generation is essential" BGL Golf claims to have a longstanding commitment to supporting the development of junior golf, with each of its venues running a range of coaching schools and academies for youngsters throughout the year.
“Introducing youngsters to golf is extremely important to us here at BGL,” commented operations director, Guy Riggott.
“The game teaches children many important life skills, and making the sport as accessible as possible to the younger generation is essential if the game is going to continue to grow.”
The structure and timings of the issuing of junior memberships will vary depending on location, with specific details available from each venue upon request.
