First impressions: A really cool, smart looking head which is in-line with the rest of the stylish Fly-Z range.

They feature the speed channel technology for added forgiveness across the face and added ball speed and the size is about right for a mid to high handicapper.

What they say: Borrowing from their Fly-Z line of metalwoods, the Fly-Z Irons feature Cobra’s revolutionary Speed Channel technology – a visible trench positioned on both the cavity behind the face and on the sole of the irons.

This is designed to flex and recover at impact to deliver great distance through faster ball speeds.

The irons modern head shape combined with the Speed Channel delivers higher speeds across the face and yields the best combination of distance, forgiveness and feel.

“The Fly-Z family of irons is designed to provide performance for golfers of all levels by addressing a wide span of performance needs,” said Jose Miraflor, director of product marketing at Cobra Golf.
Consider these if you love the Cobra vibe and want some high-performance irons NCG Verdict: The speed channel helps you achieve some super-fast ball speed numbers and helped these become one of the most forgiving irons I tested.

Some really long numbers which is great if you are looking for a distance iron but a few did jump off the face and went further than I wanted.

They look great and perform just as well so well worth a look.

Hot: Stylish, fast and long
Not: I’d prefer a little more consistency with distance
