Readers’ review: Mizuno MP-S golf balls
After winning a dozen Mizuno MP-S golf balls, reader and recent competition winner Adam Jones, was kind enough to review the brand new super soft performance ball aimed squarely at the likes of the Titleist Pro V1.

So here’s the tale of the tape:
Handicap: 3
Plays with: Titleist Pro V1
Location: Porthmadog Golf Club, Wales
Let me first start off by saying that I am a Titleist Pro V1 player, and have been for some time, so after entering – and then surprisingly – winning a Mizuno Monday competition. I was excited to try out a different golf ball.
Well, the new Mizuno MP-S golf ball has impressed me from the very first shot to the last of the day.
As far as I’m concerned, Mizuno have developed a terrific ball which is just as responsive as the Pro V1 (again, my usual choice) and golf balls I have tried from other leading brands.
The terrific feel and control are the main reasons that I think this new three piece ball rivals its competitors.
The 330 dimple pattern definitely allows for what seems like a more configured stable ball flight and this refined urethane cover seems to allow for increased initial speed when coming off the club face.
Final thoughts
I would highly recommend this high feel golf ball for the better player and give it a try if you fancy a change from the Titleist Pro V1 or Srixon Z Star.
In my opinion I think it could be a popular ball used by golfers looking for a very good alternative to the Pro V1, these are at least worth a try.
If I had to give it a score, it couldn’t be less than 4.5 out of 5, and although not my usual ball choice I’m glad I’ve had the chance to try this new range out for myself.
