Galvin Green launched its 2015 Multi-layer Ladies’ Collection at two special golf days this week, the first at Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club in Richmond, Surrey and the second at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa in Knutsford, Cheshire.

More than 140 readers of  Lady Golfer magazine attended the events that included a presentation on how to layer up in the latest high-performance clothing to play year-round golf and improve scoring. They enjoyed a Swedish-style breakfast, 18-holes on the Pam Burton course at Royal Mid-Surrey – which has the largest ladies section of any golf club in the country – and the James Braid-designed Championship golf course at The Mere. Each received a gift bag with luxury items and vouchers for Galvin Green clothing.

The winners of the golf tournaments – Jan Glover, the Lady Captain from The Oxford Golf Club, who was victorious at Royal Mid-Surrey with 37 Stableford points, and Pat Jackson of Worsley GC near Manchester, who won at The Mere with 30 points – were rewarded with a week-long trip to the Madeira Islands. The trip includes a 5-star hotel stay, two rounds of golf and return flights from London, plus a new Galvin Green outfit. Incidentally, Jackson had just purchased a new Galvin Green rainsuit before she went out to win the top prize in the wet conditions at The Mere.

“At a time when ladies are more prominent in the game, with new R&A members and successful European teams, dedicated golf clothing designed by women golfers for women golfers is now in greater demand,” said Tom Burlison, trade marketing manager at Galvin Green. “These events have proved there is keen interest among serious lady golfers to learn more about layering up for golf whatever the weather conditions they face, so they can play more often and improve their scores,”.

Four models displayed the latest new fabrics and styles represented by 25 garments ranging from waterproof jackets and trousers, to sleeveless shirts, socks and skorts. The Collection has been inspired by the challenging conditions that often prevail at iconic golf courses around the world and colours used by the leading fashion houses.
