North East: Rockliffe Hall clinches awards

Greenkeepers recognised at 59Club's Service Excellence Awards.

A Darlington golf resort is celebrating after securing a number of top industry awards.

Rockliffe Hall won the award for Best Greenkeepers at an awards ceremony hosted by 59Club, an official PGA supplier.

The organisation sets the industry standard for measuring and comparing customer service levels at venues and hosts an annual Service Excellence Awards.

In addition, Rockliffe Hall was presented with the Golf Flag award for the second year running and came second in the Golf Sales and Ultimate Golf Resort category, just behind Celtic Manor.

‘We are extremely proud of the team’ Director Davy Cuthbertson said: “Rockliffe Hall is classed as a relatively young course, having opened just six years ago. So to be up against some of the very best in the business is an accolade in itself. However, we have won two major awards and been runners-up in two very tough categories so we are extremely proud of the team.”

The awards were hosted by BBC presenter Dan Walker and saw a range of golf venues compete for the prizes – from small municipals to international resorts such as Dubai Creek.
