Driver test results: Benross Hot Speed 10 video review
First impressions: If you want to see a brand whose clubs are improving by the year then this is it.
The look and the feel of the Hot Speed 10 says premium – especially now Benross have added adjustability to the package.
There’s a fairly jazzy design on the crown which won’t suit everyone but it definitely helps the product stand out.
Lots of technology in play here with premium shaft options to boot.
What they say: The Hot Speed 10 sits in the middle of Benross’ three drivers for 2015.
The mid-width head and mid-CG sole weight positions the centre of gravity in the centre of the head to help optimise spin and launch angle.
A hosel adaptor allows the face angle to be adjusted from square to 1°, 2°, or 3° closed and 1° or 2° open.
Benross insist the Hot Speed 10 is all about offering power with forgiveness.
As standard the Hot Speed 10 features with Aldila’s Atx Tour Red shaft, which helps promote a higher ball flight but all shafts in the Speed range are interchangeable.
Consider this if you want a driver that genuinely compares to any on test without breaking the bank" NCG Verdict: These drivers are Benross’s best to date, in fact the latest Hot is unrecognisable from last year’s.
The sound and performance are so close to that of the big-name manufacturers that a lot of golfers will feel there’s no need to pay what is often double the amount of money.
For under £200 you can’t go far wrong.
It’s a great overall package but watch out for Benross’ true rather than dynamic lofts which can confuse. Give it a try and if making a purchase make sure you get it properly fitted.
