The KP, in Kilnwick Percy, near Pocklington, has started work on a new health and fitness studio called The Box, which the owners hope will make the club a major destination.
The new facility will have a gym, fitness studio and Nordic ‘chill out’ area including outdoor steam and sauna huts.
Director Simon Dixon said: “We believe this facility will further establish us as a top visitor destination for Yorkshire. The addition of the gym and studio will mean we will be offering more comprehensive facilities and the perfect package for people wanting to relax and get away from it all.”
The facilities will be powered by an eco-friendly Biomass boiler, while the KP management has also committed to planting 2,000 trees on the golf course to replace the 100 lost in the construction of the building.
Events and marketing manager Emily Stephenson said: “We think this state of the art gym and studio is a great addition to Pocklingotn, which will bring additional footfall to the area and create new employment opportunities.”
