One Direction singer Niall Horan has been given a lifetime membership at the club where he played golf as a child.
The 21-year-old visited Mullingar in Belvedere, Ireland on December 27 and was presented with a lifelong membership.
‘Thanks for even thinking about me’ He later turned to social media to give his thanks to the club. Writing on Twitter, he said: “Thank you to everyone at Mullingar Golf Club for making me an honorary life member of the club. What a nice touch!”
Horan played at the County Westmeath club as a child and despite being a member of one of the most famous boy bands in the world, he appeared shocked to have been recognised at his home course, adding: “I’ve been a member of the club since I was 12/13 and to be awarded with this now is just incredible. Thanks for even thinking about me.”
