Commentary: We rank this as the best course in the Republic of Ireland – the former Walker Cup venue is a class act. It’s often described as Ireland’s answer to Muirfield, offering a similar blend of subtle and testing holes with regular changes in direction. What’s more, there is a third nine here, the Yellow, that barely suffers in comparison to the established championship 18. Unspectacular in the main but peerless in terms of quality.
