De Vere forms partnership with Golf Tourism England

Tourism authority teams up with hotel and golf rest chain to promote England as a top golfing destination

De Vere Hotels & Resorts have formed a first-of-its-kind partnership, with the newly formed Golf Tourism England, to continue to promote its championship standard courses and resorts across the country and overseas.

This partnership is the first of its kind between a tourism authority and a key partner in the UK and outlines De Vere’s drive to grow the game of golf and desire to be at the forefront of new initiatives looking to assist this development.

With a diverse portfolio of resorts throughout the country, De Vere is in the perfect positon to promote England as a fantastic destination for golf tourism.

From Mottram Hall in Cheshire to Dunston Hall in Norwich, the De Vere Hotels & Resorts portfolio is not only accessible to many English golfers, but also offers a diverse range of playing conditions through a variety of layouts and golfing terrain.

Golf Tourism England was established earlier in the year to promote the outstanding golf courses that the country has to offer, with the aim of becoming the recognised body that represents all of golf tourism interests within England, on the global stage.

In forming the relationship, De Vere has outlined its intention to remain at the forefront of promotion for the finest golf that England has to offer.

“De Vere has always focussed upon growing the game throughout the country and looked to make the leading golf courses available to as many golfers as possible,” said Keith Pickard, Group Director of Golf at De Vere.

It is great to form a partnership with a body that shares our objectives, and is fast becoming a leader in the field" “We are very proud of our resorts and the first class hospitality that they provide for visitors and guests from across the world.

“We want to be at the forefront of promoting golf within England on a global stage, and hope that this will help build the profile of our offerings, as well as allowing us to continually learn from more of the world’s finest resorts.”

CEO of Golf Tourism England, Andrew Cooke, added: “We are delighted to partner with De Vere, a group who have a long tradition showcasing the best of English golf and hospitality at every level.

“The extremely high standards of service and the pristine condition of golf courses found across the De Vere Hotels & Resorts portfolio is exactly what we are looking for in a partner to put forward as a prime example for golf in England, and the potential it has golfers worldwide”
