We’d rather be playing… Fairways & Bluewater, Boracay
The Philippines is one of the world’s up-and-coming holiday destinations. Made up of thousands of idyllic, sun-drenched islands, you wonder what took everyone so long. Fairways and Bluewater is on the island of Boracay, home to some of the best beaches in Asia and a 45-minute hop from Manila.
The Course
An 18-hole, par-72 Graham Marsh design. It is spectacularly scenic; palm fringed with steep slopes, lakes and the cerulean Sibuyan Sea as a backdrop. The front nine is fairly flat, but plenty of water hazards will keep things interesting. The back nine offers a different challenge, with hilly terrain and a stiff breeze coming into play.
The Accommodation
The smart, modern on-site resort hotel has rooms overlooking the course, plus three freshwater swimming pools, spa and private beach. Kids will love horse riding on the beach, tackling the 325-metre zipline or buggy rides through the resort.
