Hole 15th – Rushes
161 yards, par 3
What the players face:
The shortest hole on the course is played back towards the clubhouse and features an elevated tee set into the sand dunes – clearly wind is the key factor on a hole that is a little like the 9th at Royal Lytham in that it is pretty much surrounded by sand.
How to play it:
There will be plenty of birdie twos here and also a few bunker-related disasters. The toughest pin, obviously depending on the wind, is usually the one cut in the back right corner because not only is this tucked behind a dangerous bunker, but anything landing just over it will land on a downslope.
Club selection is key.
Did you know:
Tiger Woods made three pars and a two here on his way to success in 2006.
