Scotland’s Martin Laird is among eight players to have secured their spot in the 142nd Open Championship through their position in the world rankings.
The 30-year-old plays full-time on the PGA Tour and is World No 59.
The other seven players who made it to Muirfield based on their ranking position are last week’s PGA Tour winner Jonas Blixt and compatriot Fredrik Jacobson, American duo Kyle Stanley and Ken Duke, Marc Leishman, Graham DeLaet, and England’s Chris Wood.
