FIRST LOOK: Callaway X Hot irons

Higher ball speeds and greater distance are what the new irons are all about

With Speed Frame Face Technology, borrowed from the X Hot Driver, these new Callaway irons are configured to create higher ball speeds and greater distance. Tested as being 3mph faster and 10 yards further than RAZR X irons, they feature stronger lofts (a market trend), and a very low CG that doesn’t compromise a traditional ball flight trajectory or stopping power into greens.

With a Deep Undercut Cavity Design, which has allowed for the very low and deep CG, creating maximum forgiveness without losing aesthetic appeal when positioned behind the ball, X Hot is perfect for the ‘game enjoyer’.
The Feel Management medallion in the cavity of the club, an homage to Callaway irons of the past, fine-tunes a crisp, positive impact and stops unwanted vibration reaching the hands of the golfer.
Callaway has also opted for a Speed Step 85 steel shaft as standard, replacing Uniflex, so golfers now have a choice of more industry accepted regular or stiff flex options. Graphite and ladies versions are also available.
"Callaway say the X Hots are 3mph faster and 10 yards longer than their Razr X irons."
FOUR KEY TECHNOLOGIES

Speed Frame Face Technology

A combination of VFT and Hyperbolic Face Technology creates a larger sweet spot and increases ball speeds across the face for longer, more consistent distance. Technology borrowed from the X-Hot Driver has been applied to the irons to create higher ball speeds and greater distance.

Deep Undercut Cavity Design

Deep clubface/undercut cavity system enables engineers to precisely position the CG, increase face compliance and engineer the face of each individual iron to maximise ball speed.

Feel Management Technology

Produced through a dual material medallion that fine-tunes sound and promotes a crisp, dynamic feel at higher ball speeds.

Speed Step 85 Lightweight steel shaft

Steel shaft is available in both regular and stiff flexes along with lightweight graphite options
