The fairways at this week’s US Open are incredibly narrow. So much so that many tour pros are switching their bags around to cater for strong-lofted long irons.
Lee Westwood could be one of them. The World No 3 has been spotted testing a Ping i20 2-iron at Olympic Club. The tour-only club is designed to fly very high and land softly, making it ideal for attacking the course’s small greens and finding its stick-thin fairways.
