SNEAK PEEK: New TaylorMade drivers
When TaylorMade released the R11 and Burner SuperFast 2.0 drivers in early 2011, white heads were considered wacky and unusual.
Now, not even a year on, the colour is widely accepted and white drivers are common sightings at all levels.
TaylorMade are introducing two more white drivers in the new year – the R11-S – a 460cc version of the R11 – and the RocketBallz, or RBZ, which replaces Burner.
We have limited information about the two drivers, but we have been told that the main difference between the R11-S and the standard R11 is an increased amount of adjustability.
There are two more sole plate configurations, which give you more control over face angle, and you can change the loft by three degrees each way instead of one. TaylorMade say this means the driver offers up to 80 yards of adjustability.
The RocketBallz – so named by prototype testers for its fast face – offers adjustable technology for entry-level budgets. It does not offer the same amount of adjustability as the R11-S, but comes in at a much lower price point.
