Nike have replaced their SQ Machspeed driver range with a new club designed to offer maximum power and forgiveness.
The VR_S driver has a tour-inspired head shape but is packed with technology to make it friendly to off-centre hits and easy to hit high, long and straight.
Its flagship feature is the brand’s new NexCor face insert, which utilises multiple thicknesses to offer maximum ball speeds even on strikes away from the centre.
Coupled with an aerodynamically-engineered head and a longer, lighter shaft than the Machspeed, it helps golfers of all abilities generate more clubhead speed and distance.
Nike expect many of their tour players to use this club but also say it is more than suitable for beginners. An adjustable STR8-FIT option is available, but no square shape will go to market.
